About Aimee

Shapes, colors, textures, light…

I’ve always been drawn to the arts – it was only a matter of time until it became more than just a hobby.  I passed up the opportunity to study Art in college and regretted it in later years as I stood idly by, watching others pursue their passion in various forms of art. Photography has been a perfect fit for me because I get to nurture my mathematical, geeky side through the technicalities of the equipment, and then on the other hand…the more creative, ethereal half dances with the colors, the composition, and the beauty of it all…

The Aimee Fields Photography logo is symbolic of my love for sunset sessions in wildflower fields, and incorporates a hobby of watercolor painting that holds a special place in my heart.  And speaking of the heart, I’ve been known to donate sessions in the name of fundraising for American Cancer Society, Delta Gamma Service for Sight, and local preschools. When I’m not wielding my camera gear, you may find me teaching your Spin class at the gym, blowing bubbles with my 3 year-old, trying out a new vegetarian recipe, running with my 10 year-old, golfing with my hubby, or most likely, working away on your photos until 5 A.M.!

What’s in my bag?

I’ve been collecting and upgrading gear for quite a while now.  Raised with Nikon in my blood, my husband guessed right when he bought me my first DSLR!  It’s been a long journey, but here’s my current collection that usually lives in my (gigantic and heavy!) bag:

  • Nikon D700 body (and a second one comes along if you’re getting married!)
  • Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8
  • Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8
  • Nikkor 50mm 1.4
  • Nikkor 85mm 1.4
  • Nikon SB-910 flash (an extra flash attends weddings too)
  • wireless triggers and tripods for extra drama and fun!

I am an active member of Professional Photographers of America.
